Modesta is a small, boutique manufacturer of high-end paint protection coatings based in Takamatsu, Japan. Through the years, Modesta has gained worldwide reputation for engineering the most exclusive products in the segment, while staying true to values, that have shaped not only our business but the whole industry.
The company traces its origins back to 2005, being one of the oldest companies in the business of automotive coatings. As a pioneer of the industry, Modesta was the first to introduce a series of innovations, nowadays mimicked by many competitors, including mandatory infra-red curing. Modesta Coatings are only available to meticulously trained professionals with 50 miles territory between each installer.
To grasp the significance of IR curing, it's essential to delve into the composition of ceramic coatings and why their curing is imperative. Coatings, whether for consumer or professional application, typically comprise exclusive blends of silica dioxide, titanium dioxide, and assorted carrier solvents. Similar to automotive paints or clear coats, these solvents evaporate during curing, a process known as off-gassing, leaving behind an exceptionally durable ceramic surface composed of SiO2 and TiO2, offering protection against surface damage.
Employing IR lamps for curing expedites the dissipation of these solvents, facilitating quicker and more thorough curing. This accelerated process results in coatings achieving full hardness sooner, sparing customers lengthy wait times for their vehicles and safeguarding against potential damage from environmental factors, especially in regions like New England. While the efficiency gains are notable, many coatings necessitate IR curing to attain desired levels of hardness, a process that could otherwise extend to weeks or months in conventional settings.
The Modesta professional-only paint protection glass coatings that we offer are extremely hard paint protection glass coatings that guards your paint and other surfaces against damage.
Modesta requires infrared curing lamps to cure the coatings which will add additional strength, resistance, and durability to the coating.
Our professional grade infrared curing lamps are 9000 watts which require 2 dedicated circuits of 30 amps. A typical curing time on a vehicle varies from 4-8 hours. We ensure that the coatings are cured properly, which requires constant temperature monitoring and is labor intensive.
